Apple Brings Sports Fanaticism to the Palm of Your Hand With New Multiview Update

Apple has officially rolled out iOS 27.2 this week, bringing a suite of updates that aim to transform how fans consume live athletics. The standout addition is undoubtedly Multiview, a feature previously reserved for larger screens like the iPad and Vision Pro, which now lands on the iPhone. This update allows subscribers of the Apple TV app to monitor up to four different live sports streams simultaneously, making it much easier to keep track of multiple games without constantly switching tabs.

The experience varies depending on what you are watching, offering both curated presets and deep customization. For instance, Formula 1 fans can move beyond basic race coverage by building their own layouts featuring specific driver-view cameras and real-time course maps. While the feature works surprisingly well on standard devices like the iPhone 18 Pro, its true potential is unlocked on the expansive screen of the iPhone Duo, where the folded display provides ample room for four simultaneous feeds without feeling cramped.

Getting started with the tool is straightforward since a dedicated Multiview button now appears at the bottom of the player whenever a supported sporting event begins. Currently, users can utilize this layout for major leagues including MLB and MLS, as well as global racing circuits. Access to these streams requires an Apple TV subscription priced at fourteen dollars and ninety nine cents a month or inclusion in an Apple One bundle. As Apple continues to expand its portfolio of sports rights, this software tweak ensures that hardware limitations no longer stand in the way of total game day coverage.
