Goldman Sachs is extending its reach into the world of digital assets by integrating one of its massive Treasury funds into a specialized settlement network designed for institutional crypto firms. The bank’s FTIXX fund, which manages approximately 100 billion dollars, will now be accessible via Lynq, a platform used by major industry players like Wintermute and Galaxy to move capital efficiently. By making the fund available on this network, Goldman provides crypto firms with a secure venue to park their cash between trades, allowing them to earn a steady yield rather than letting liquidity sit idle.
What makes this move particularly interesting is that Goldman Sachs is avoiding the trend of tokenization seen among its peers. While competitors like BlackRock and Franklin Templeton have created specific tokenized versions of their funds to live on the blockchain, Goldman is keeping FTIXX exactly as it is. Instead of building a new digital product from scratch, the bank is simply using Lynq as a modern distribution channel. This approach allows traditional Wall Street products to slide directly into the existing workflows that cryptocurrency institutions already use every day.
The integration was not without its hurdles, requiring technical modifications to the Lynq platform and strict compliance measures. Access is limited to U.S. clients who maintain a relationship with tZERO Securities and pass rigorous onboarding checks. Because Lynq operates on a private Avalanche blockchain layer, it creates a controlled environment where high volume traders can pivot quickly between liquid cash and government securities without leaving their operational ecosystem.
According to Lynq CEO Jerald David, this partnership represents a growing convergence between legacy financial markets and the emerging digital asset space. For years, institutional crypto firms have requested more diverse options for managing their treasuries on-platform. By bringing in a flagship asset from one of the world’s most powerful investment banks, Lynq transforms itself into a multi-asset hub that bridges the gap between old-school stability and new-age speed.
